There was a great article in the March 2015 Wing World magazine about motorcycle tires. It was extremely informative and written in a manner in which the average person could understand. It explains the many ways that a motorcycle tire has to be constructed differently than a car tire and the specific needs of a motorcycle tire. Below is the beginning of the article with a link to see the rest of the article on the Wing World website. Let’s face it — most of us give our tires very little thought, especially when it comes to tire pressure. This may be a carryover from our experience with our car tires, when the only time we think about tire pressure is when there isn’t any. A flat on the car may not be too serious, because we can limp over to the shoulder and install the spare. But on a two-wheeler, with only two small patches of rubber separating us from disaster, a flat or blowout will cause serious control problems and possibly a crash. |
